Here's Idea 7 of 52 Ideas. By the way, you can hear all of the sound clips so far on my SoundCloud profile. In other news, I'm currently obsessed with this video: (Oops, this is supposed to say "Idea 6" but I can't seem to edit it! I'm on number 6, not number 5!) It's been kind of crazy the past couple weeks. I was in Palo Alto for a tour with Cappella Romana. We were performing at Stanford University as part of their "Stanford Live" concert series. More about that later. But here is my composition for this week. It's shorter than some of the others, but managed to get an idea down that has been in my head for a bit. It's influenced by a number of things, including I think some music by Chris Rice, The Secret Garden, and any number of contemporary "classical" pieces written for choir by composers that attempt to write something "pretty." Enough explanation...it is what it is: Another thing that happened this week is that I was helping Abby put together an IndieGogo campaign for her trip to Nepal. She's going there to study sound healing and Ayurvedic body treatments. (Here's the IndieGogo link in case you are curious: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/331585/ We made a video for her campaign, and I found that I really enjoyed working on that for her. I have made several promo or "montage" videos in the past, and it really lightens up my creativity. It's seems to be some of the same parts of my brain that I use when I compose and record music.
